cam seals
ok..the side of my engine where the headgasket, timing belt cover, valve cover is leaking major oil...so I figure the cams seals in there are bad....the question is that when I take out my sprockets..can I just try to dig out the cam seals or do I need to take out shafts as well? Me being stupid...when I had replaced my shafts, valve springs, retainers, etc....I never replaced those 2 seals.....and now its leaking oil....Im just trying to save time and cant recall if I can just dig out those 2 seals....the thing Im worried is that...I already had it dyno tune and dont wanna mess up any of my set up.....
2 seals that im talking about....

you dont even need to remove the cam gears.... jus take off valve cover etc, then the cam plates, and then 2 camcovers and replace seals. Then torque the cam plates to 20ft lb in criss cross patern and BAM ur done!

ok mank...your thinking of something else, because you NEED to remove the cam gears to replace those cam seals.

yes I know..
yes I know..
I recently did mine. Pulled off the cam gears, and the top end caps. I wiped a thin coat of some black RTV gasket stuff around them on the outside and then slid them on. Then put on the top end caps back on. I got them from Acura, and they had some clear grease on the inside V grove where it goes on the cam. I had some other ones that I got for a different motor that didn't have that grease (I didn't end up using these). So you might look into that.
