Default Swapping F22..

Hello guys!

I'm new here and I come with serious problem... My engine is soon to blow - burns oil like diesel. There are two solutions - rebuild the old one or swap it with newer motor.

Do you guys know where I should look for rebuild engines? The best would be somewhere in NJ/NY/PA.

The car is Accord '94 LX sedan with over 197k miles.

Thanks.

P.S. Maybe I should do some upgrade and get newer setup? What do you suggest?

if you have money to burn...i'd go with a jdm h22
if not, i think rebuilt f22's are pretty cheap and easy to find

i dont live in the area, but a lot of preformance shops here will provide and install engines, you just have to look around and compare prices...if you can't find any i've heard hmotorsonline.com is a good place to start

swapping a vtec engine into a non-vtec car is just as easy given that the motor mounts are the same and you have the matching ECU for the new motor.

basically you can swap an h22a in place of a non-vtec f22b2 without a problem.

if you're worried about $$ then try a source out a DOHC jdm f22 (not vtec, but nice) or even it's sister motor here in the US (H23 non vtec). you can find them every here and there for reletivly cheap.

when I swap vtec with ecu - do I rewire the ECu from scratch or it's "plug-n-play" thing?

as long as the motor and ecu is 1995 or older then it will plug right in.

After talking to the seller it turns out that engine is the same (f22b2) as mine but from '97 model (mine is '94). Could someone tell me if there are any differences in those two years? Thx.

I'm gonna do it with a friend of mine who is a car mechanic and has his own shop. But any help is always welcome. Is there any way we could talk online or in real life? Hmm... I see you're from North Bergen - I work at UPS in Secaucus and sometimes cover that area :-) Most of the time I spend in UC though...
