Default 93 Accord wierd no start

Hi guys, I'm new to the forum and desperate.

My wife's 93 Accord will not start if it is damp outside. Temperature doesn't seem to matter as it will start at 30 degrees or 100 degrees if its dry outside. However, if there is any rain, dew, etc . . ., it just turns over and over and over and will not start.

If you pop the hood and let the sun hit the motor on a damp morning, it will start within 1/2 hour. If it is run at 2:00 AM, it will sometimes start even if it's wet outside.

It is firing when it's wet outside. We took the center wire off the cap and the spark will jump to the wire from the cap. We have changed plugs, distributor cap, plug wires.

We've had it on the code check thingy (LOL). No luck.

My father-in-law has been a transmission mechanic for 25 years and has built his own carts and modifieds for decades. He's stumped and I've seen him solve some wierd stuff . . .

Anyway, it appears that the car is not getting fuel under the wet conditions.

Any ideas?

Has anyone had a similar problem?

What controls the fuel and would be affected by weather?

Thanks a lot

If it has an externally mounted ignition coil.......

Just for giggles, next time it decides not to rain, grab a sprritz bottle and start spraying around individual components with the engine running. What will happen is when you finally get to the offending piece, the engine will either start skipping, or will shut off.

I would start with the coil, dist cap, wires etc. (even tho you said you replaced them)
