I don't think the e46 ZHP is going to make THAT big of a difference in DS... at least, I don't think it's going to do to DS what the E90 3-series will with 275 steamrollers under the fenders. LOL.
Big german machinery in FS could be pretty comical. Maybe Tunnell needs to leave the motor in the M5 and NOT throw it in an E36 chassis. Instead win FS in a car that costs 4-5 times as much as any previous FS winner

Good God. H-stock (the slowest class) is populated with cars that *used* to be *D*-stock cars....
I can see a decent driver showing up in an Si and taking Fastest time stock at a local event....

Right now I'm trying to find someone to make a trade with. My STS 00 Civic Si for a completely stock (yeah right) 00 Civic Si. I would take off most of my parts but the suspension bushings was a super pain in the *** and don't ever want to deal with that ever again.
Man, HS is sure looking expensive.
<-----is glad he is still in what could be the cheapest class to be competitive in, even if I'm still a couple seconds off the pace nationally.

I dunno... the E46 ZHP comes with 18x8F / 18x8.5R wheels. I'd be curious to see how much rubber can be stuffed under that? 285-30-18s in DS anyone? lol...
What wheels are on the e90 ZHP?

Believe an auto, not sure what trim level. (Definately not an Si.)

Everyone in GS that did not have an 05+ Mini Cooper S.
And HS would be a blast in a 99-00 Si. That car could topple a Mini on certain courses, without a doubt. The formula is already there as that chassis and car has been developed quite a bit.

No IT changes. The only thing I saw was that the Type R's year eligibility in T2 has been extended to include 00-01. So now 97-01 is eligible in T2.

The only problem I see though is the wheel width issue. 99-00 Civic Si came with 15x6" wheels (UGH!). I think the Mini Cooper (base) you can get with 16s.

That means you are limited to the 205/50/15 if you want to use the 710 tires since there is no way you would want to gear it up with the 225/50/15. They may be stuck with using Hoosiers especially if trying to run 225 front, 205 back.

What?
I'd run the 225/50/15 V710 up front, without a doubt.
The 99-00 Si is gonna be the car to beat, by far.

I bought the 2006 Civic LX Coupe with a MANUAL.
Honestly, I was going to get the manual regardless, but I thought I'd ask for suggestions on what other people would do in my situation... My wife, as wonderful as she is, laid the guilt on pretty thick. But she came to understand that for autocrossing, a manual is better performing and ultimately, more reliable than an automatic (especially Honda automatics).
She said that since I will be using the new car for both daily driving and autocrossing (as the Civic and Accord are already sold), that I should buy what will make me happiest over the next decade.
Quick facts:
* Weight: 2650
* Steering ratio: 13.7:1 with much improved location and geometry.
* 140hp and 128tq apparently at the hubs using the new SAE standard, meaning 150-155hp and about 140tq at the flywheel.
* Improved motion ratios and geometry for the suspension, both front and rear.

ME!
I'm willing to put money down that the people in charge do not drive in the lower stock classes, because they obviously don't give a ****. Otherwise they wouldn't be packing HS and GS with new, fast-ish cars. I'm relieved that the '02 Civic Si is going down to HS because it used to own GS!
To be competitive in stock, you have to have a new car. That sucks because it's turning Solo 2 into a rich man's sport.

I just discovered that the curb weight for the 99-00 Si is listed at 2612lbs., meaning it sits around 2560 lbs. in stock class trim. My new car should be within 40# of that with a lot more torque and only slightly taller gearing than the S4C trans. especially with the 16x6.5" wheels and 225/50/16 V710's.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I all but guarantee myself 60+ mph in second.

Maybe locally, but I though the Celica GT and the Cooper S were the top dogs until the 2005 LSD-equipped Cooper S made it a one-horse race.
