hey guys. i have the chance to get a b20 for my ls. dosent this motor bolt into my car? also can i use my ECU or do i need the b20 computer? from what ive herd, my LS tranny bolts up right? help me out guys
take that motor dude! you'll kick yourself if you don't..... i've been looking for that motor forever but around here they're not so easy to come by.
ya, bolts right up.... you can use your ls computer.... the engine mounts are the same... actually the physical size of the block itself is the exact same as the ls... so ya, go ahead and do that sh*t!!!
good luck!
oh ya, the ls tranny bolts right up to the b20...

I don't have any experience with it, but from what I've heard the motor is much too heavy, and throws off the cars (already lacking) weight distribution.
NM, thinking of a H22.

I did this to my 92 LS. All i had to do (or tell the shop to do) was move the IM and Crank pulley from the b18 to the b20. And I moved the distributor over but i don't think you have to cause both are obd2 right? I also had to move over the driver side motor mount bracket but i don't know if this applies to G3s.
Everything else was reused... ecu, tranny, wiring harness, etc.

That motor weighs the same as the B18A you'd be removing. Its an overgrown LS, every thing is the same except the pistons and bore size, crank pulley, cams(depending on whether its a B20B or B20Z). Do it, you' like it. You can use the LS ECU, and it'll bolt up to your tranny. Use the mounts on your current engine, not the B20 ones. Swap the Intake manifold and crank pulley with the LS ones. Use your current distributor, the B20 is OBDII and your computer is OBD1.
He's right....swap should take no more than 1 day...it took me and a friend 7 hours to do mine and we kept taking a lot of breaks... You will love it...its such an improvement over the stock b18a/b
