Default Brake pad install cost?

About how much would a shop charge to install a pair of rear brake pads on a GSR?

Just DIY, it takes all of 5 mins per tire.

It'll be anywhere from $50-100.

As suggested, try to do it yourself. It requires basic hand tools. The only hard thing you might encounter is tight bolts. Some elbow grease or a breaker bar (or an impact gun) will help you here.

Remember, the rear brake piston must be turned back in, not just pushed back in.

Maybe like $30-$40 at like a meineke or something.
The turning in of the caliper will prolly give you the most trouble. Try it yourself honetsly it couldn't be easier. Id rather do that than a damn oil change

Is it necessary to bleed the brake fluid when you are just replacing the front pads?

You don't need to bleed them as long as you don't take the brake line off of the caliper, which you don't need to do when you are just changing the pads. Unless you already have a spongy feeling pedal, you won't need to bleed them.

I paid $50.00 labor only. No rotor resurfacing. Just installation only. He quoted $65 but ask for discount. He did not bleed my brake at all.
