how fast would an mr-2 run?
some punk round here bout an mr-2, and he doesnt even know where the spark plugs go. it's a second gen and he already blew the motor by hooking up n2o wrong. he says they run 14.5 stock? is he right?
MR2's run pretty fast stock. Turbo MR2's did pretty well in the old A Stock class in Solo II and especially Pro Solo (and should do pretty good in the "new" B Stock). NA MR2's rule E Stock, and the new MR2 Spyders do pretty well against the Miatas in B Stock.
14.5's? Damn, your buddy must run on a small lot.

A turbo 2nd-gen MR2 (200hp) ran 14's stock. But not the nonturbo version (140hp?)... that's probably a mid-high 15 second car.
But hey, with NOS, anything's possible. I saw in a movie that NOS will make any fwd car on street tires do 10's in the 1/4.
Hope that helps,
Jon

He is listed under pgs (Pro G-Stock), we have a pro class for some people to run in to give others chance.

G stock is the Carpenter class now.
MR2 second Gens. weigh like 3,100 lbs ...... the turbo model does NOT run 14's stock.
Stock they are around 15.2-15.5 typically, and the 140 hp model is dawg azz slow in a straight line.
But the turbo model is VERY easy to get much faster.

for real guys answer my question. does it run 14.5 stock, this is the turbo model. maybe i should haev posted some where else.
Perhaps someone can do a search on the internet.
I'll try to run by my storage unit tonight and find the original Road & Track issue with the road test.
If it's a turbo in good mechanical condition, it should have no problem running mid-high 14.'s, IIRC.
