Default Wanted: Your G3 GS-R OEM intake tube

I recently purchased the Comptech Icebox and I am in dire need the OEM rubber intake tube that goes from the throttle body to the Icebox. Any leads to one is much appreciated! Thanks.

MmmVTEC,

I'm kinda considering the Icebox, so I gotta question for you. I'm assuming that since you're looking for a stock rubber tube, it means that I can keep my stock rubber tube and not have to dish out more money for the Comptech short intake, right? And does that mean I can keep using the stock filter (or actually K&N in my case) or do I have to use the Comptech foam filter? Thnx.

I'm not MmmVTEC, but yes you can use your stock filter, K&N, or whatever else you want with the Icebox. The Icebox is simply a replacement for your stock airbox and resonator.

If the icebox is so close to stock, how much power do you get out of it? Does the AEM CAI give you more power?

Here, this should answer your questions.

I have the complete Comptech icebox with short ram intake and foam filter as well. I recently switched back to the OEM rubber hose and the OEM filter because of concerns I had with the foam filter's filtration abilities. The OEM filter and hose fits better on the icebox than the comptech aluminum tube and foam filter. The OEM tube seems to run cooler than the aluminum tube as well. I think the foam filter may provide a slight increase in flow when compared to a clean OEM filter but the difference may not be that much. The OEM filter has way more surface (about 50% more, my measurments are not in front of me but I seem to recall the diference being like 300 to 145 square inches) area than the foam filter. My butt dyno says that the foam filter flows a bit better but my best track time was 4/10 second lower with the OEM filter (but I don't have much experience drag racing either so it could have been practice effect). On the other hand, I think the Icebox is a hugh improvment over the OEM box, it draws colder air and has a much larger input tube as well.

Actually the dyno runs are from Austin's Type-R (Type-R forum), so the results are not fixed. Go to https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=135429 to read his comments.

god am i glad to see that dyno sheet.
i JUST installed the comptech icebox on my car maybe 3 hours ago.
(bitch to install...but worth it)
it (my car) IS noticably more powerful.. especially between about 4500-7500 rpms.
i've seen that dyno sheet somewhere before but i always thought
it might be fixed. now that i know it was done on Austin's car i know
i have atleast one bit of evidence that shows my icebox was a very
good buy.
plus the fact that it's not loud at all compared to the AEM...which
basically roars until a cop pulls you over.
you can barely tell the intake is there unless you're at wide open throttle...
my car is totally stock besides generic coilovers that came with the car.
well..now it is "unstock" thanks to the icebox...but listening for the sound
difference (before stock and after) was easy for me since my car is stock.
