Default Lost the Rotor mounting screw

I started up my car today and it wouldn't start. I checked the distributor cap and found pieces of the leak cover inside the cap. Couldn't find the screw though.

Question: Is the mounting screw non-magnetic (won't get picked up by a magnet) ?
I'm just concerned that it might still be in the the distributor housing and could cause more damage if it flew off if its currently stuck on a motor magnet. I'm thinking that it dropped out when I removed the distributor cap though.

I know this happens to at least a couple other people. Where did you find your screw?

Usually when the screw falls out, it'll tear up everything inside from the cap to the rotor. I think ITRacer121 has a few pic of what happened to his when his came loose after a day of dyno tuning . If you haven't found it, it's probably somewhere on the floor.

I found my screw on the garage floor a couple of days later. My local Acura dealer did not stock the rotor button screw so I got one for a 2000 Civic Si. Worked just fine.

I got those things out, and then chucked them around the garage in the hopes that I never see them ever again (let alone use them).

This happens on most Integra distributors after a while. I always use a little bit of loctite on the rotor's set screw.

Helms specifies a "screw made of diamagnetic material".
