If you want reliable, your best best is going to be a stock motor that's never been cracked open, generally speaking. If you have/know a really good machinist, that can save you some dollars, but I personally would rather trust the Honda factory.

well my car i believe has alredy been "cracked open" it has a different GSR head on it instead of the original. will that still be reliable?

I was reading in honda tuning some crap, and 90% of the **** on boards is ****. This info I believe to be such

This is only true if the car is brand-new. Think about it, this guy is probably picking up a obd1 gsr longblock, 100% city driving with like "40,000 miles, whatever. Just think about it.

So what are you basing all of this on? Have you done a compression and leakdown test to see if you are in fact, losing power? What good will a new longblock do you, if you don't know the initial problem you're having. You could spend $1800 on a new block, just to have the same problem again.

Don't just jump into rebuilding a motor. If it aint broke, don't fix it.
