Default Acura RL Calipers on S2K

Is the caliper swap possible? The Acura RL brake calipers are pretty hot. I think they are quad piston as well. It would be a pretty sick upgrade. Just wondering if anyone has seen it or if its possible to do.

My stock S2000 brakes worked well enough to race (and win) with, yet people all want to BLING their cars out with bigger brakes on a street car.??? Please just send $ to me instead.

goodluck.

True. I've been tracking on stock rotors/calipers, upgraded pads and lines. Haven't had fading problems yet.

Stock brakes with upgraded pads, rotors, lines and no problems stopping. None with fading either. Our car stops extremely well. If you look up 70-0 brake #'s, its on par wiht 90k+ cars. I don't see a need for upgrade unless your car is a race car in a semi pro league. Even the amateur race guys don't bother upgrading the brakes

I know the cars brakes well in stock form, I do have one. I had an Audi A6 as a rental and that car stopped on a dime. Pretty crazy how good the brakes were. Just because the brakes on our cars are good doesnt mean there isnt room for improvement.

Has anyone seen the RL calipers on the S2000?

Good question. I looked all around dogpile and google and didnt find a place that sold the calipers. I'm only asking this questions because I was at a customers house the other day and he had a 2005 RL. The calipers are sexy, plus they are 4 piston.

S2000 brakes work so good if your not wearing your seatbelt with the top down it'll throw you out.

Im sure they wont just fit on there. ALthough I hear that RSX'S use the same caliper as us and pads.

For the price of getting this to work, might as well get Brembos

Yes they do work well... Time Trialers in Japan run stock calipers on upgraded disks/pads/lines. They even invest in a proportioning valve. Hmmm...

doesnt seem like theres anything wrong with trying. people are buying the spoon and other brake kits all the time.

i tried looking at an rl we had in the shop the other day but didnt want to remove the wheel for any close looks. i can tell you that you have to have a very high ofset as we've tried abut 10 sets of aftermarket wheels on the rl's and none will clear the calipers without spacers.

for that matter why not try for the nsx calipers as well? i saw a set of those on ebay last nite for about 200. maybye you can have a set of brackets machine for them as long as they clear the wheels.

NSX calipers will fit, and its already been done. The S already has high offsets on the wheels, so how much more do you need?
