Default Syncrhomesh FM question

ok I've had a grind in 3rd for a while now and am getting to replace the tranny fluid with Syncrhomesh FM but before I do that I have a question....when I go to autozone they always tell me my 98 LS takes regular motor oil instead of tranny fluid is it ok to put Syncrhomesh FM in my car...or is it only recommended for civics???

its fine using synchromesh FM in our cars. I've been running on it almost a year no prob. Friend had a bad grind in third gear also, use sychromesh and in time the grind went away. Search around in the archives, you see many threads that have been covered about synchromesh

From my understanding it is equivalent to regular syncromesh but syncromesh FM is better when it comes to grinding.

But I do have one more question my car feels like it might start to grind in 2nd will the syncromesh FM help 2nd as well as 3rd?

my question to you sir is why don't you just give me a simple yes or no answer...or can your brain not comprehend the nature of my question..so you have to answer with another question...that requires less thinking.

I suggest you come on after 3 or more hours after dealing with the "dumb puclic" geez spell check would come in handy right about now.......................^^^^^^^

whoa there try not to call people names or this is gonna be a hate thread instead of a tech thread. He just trying to say if it would help your third gear, why wouldn't it help your second gear? Don't put too much hope that it will magically take away the grinds. If grinding still does persist I suggest get your synchros replaced
