Default h22 oil pressure

Does anyone know the max oil pressure reached in a h22. Also what it is before and after vtec? I need to know if i should go with a 0-100psi gauges or 0-200psi.

I have a H22 turbo motor and i have a the autometer 0-100 oil gauge. My engine has pressure of about 25-30 at idle and when driving about 50-60 and highway speeds i get about 60-70. Hope that helps.

you should be fine with a 0-100 psi gauge, thats what i have and I dont really see anything over that. It sometimes is pretty high up there but I dont believe it has ever been higher than 100 psi. I guess it also depends on how cold it gets in your area and what oil you use

it should never go over 90psi. so you will be ok with a 0-100psi meter. VTEC does not really effect it much if any at all.

Spec is:
No less than 7psi @ Idle
No less than 50psi @ 3000rpm

Normal reading for a H22 in good condition, and oil temp of 210F:
RPM - Oil Pressure
700 - 25
1500 - 37
2500 - 50
3000 - 63
3500 - 75
4000 - 75
5000 - 75
6000 - 75
7000 - 75
7400 - 75

yes, what others have said 0-100psi is what you want.

The oil pump has some sort of relief valve that isn't going to let it put out more than 85-90.

does it make a difference if you are measuring oil pressure at the head or from the block?

I would imagine the farther you got from the pump, the lower the pressure would be. Most people hook there gauge up by teeing off were the factory oil sending unit is. Which is on the block right below the oil filter.

i doubt that the oil pressure goes above 80psi.
I would get the 0-200 if you gonna convert it to the 2.2v8VTEC.

waste of time.... the oil pump has a relief valve at 85-90 psi... with a stock oil pump you will NEVER see oil pressures higher than that.

My gauge idles at 25psi. Before, it was at 75psi at 3500rpm or higher. Now it only goes up to 60psi and oil levels are full. Any ideas why or what I can check?

Check the oil pan to see if it has a dent in it. It could be pushed up against the oil pickup. Even the slightest of dents can cause a drop in pressure. I have seen this a few times.
