Default AHHH!!11!!! Hurricane Wilman PWNAGE -_-

Yeah.. This is starting to slightly become more irratating to me now that im becoming sober again..

Anyway, a friend of mine needed a ride to drop his uhaul truck off.. He had just finished moving. So, I drove 3 cities over, being the nice guy I am for no charge at all.. Homboy hookup if you will. So we drop the truck off and he wants to go to his moms house to pick up his cell phone charger.. Sure I replied and headed in that general direction. We arrive and the hurricane was completely past. The sun was shining and all that remained were a few brief breezes/gusts. I parked in his drive way and started to head up towards his front door. All the sudden a gust picks up and I immedatly look at my car. I had left the windows down and im a serious clean ****.. I was watching to make sure nothing was gonna get in the car. As im glancing at the car I see this minature log/missle project from the top of a tree.. This tree only stood about a story high, still.. a 15 foot branch fleeing towards my car like an RPG was enough to completely shatter my hatch glass and put a decent size dent in the rear quarter panel.. Also manage to starch the paint a little just above the drivers side rear window... WTF??? I went through all three ******* hurricanes last year all catagory 3 and above and NOTHING happend to me.. We get ONE storm this year with 50mph wind gusts and my hatch gets PWNED! >.<

Karma is a bitch..

Sum:: Hatch window shattered and rear quarter panel dented and scuffed up..

Ahh, before I forget. I've got an insurance adjuster coming to quote me on the damage from my car insurance ( Geico ). Since it happend in my friends driveway, his mom is also contacting her home owners insurance. From what I understand his mom has a 500$ deductable. Which happends to be the same as my cars deductable. So I guess were gonna go 50/50 on it =\

Question to all those insurance junkies.. My hatch glass was tinted.. This is the only thing that saved the glass from completely shattering into a million peice.. Will the insurance company cover the tint as well?? I highly doubt it =\ but if they do, sweet. Also, is there a perferred place of purchase on oem glasses?

sorry to hear about your troubles. this is also comprehensive insurance coverage. the insurance company should also cover the window tinting as well. OEM glass will be sourced by the body shop. judging by the curvature of the rear piece plus the defroster, it would be rather pricey. i wouldn't be surprised if it cost more than the windshield.

Well, got an adjuster for Geico to come out today.. Total came to 1600$..

o_O

1600$ for a new rear hatch window, tint, and the minor body work.. Honestly.. I could give a expletive less how much there giving me.. As long as the car looks how it did before the incident, i don't care.

makes me almost cry to see my type s covered and withered every morning as I leave to work
