Default Shock Question

Ok I have a set of Skunk2 Coil over springs and I just threw them on a few weeks ago and then lowered my car and I lowered it so there was about a 1-1.5 inch clearance (from cut in half bumpstop to top of shock) and my car is seriously only lowered like an inch to 2 inches. I have a front lip and rear lip on my car thats all i wanna do is just lips to make it look clean. I want it to be lower all the way around and was talkin to some people and they said they have no clue what shocks i could get that would be a shorter shock in the fullest i want my car to be like 4 inches off the ground or a little more and right now i have like 6-8 it looks ridiculous it lookslike i put a lip on my car and didnt lower it it looks dumb so i was just wondering if like i could get a set of shocks for a differant model civic to see if they would be any shorter like maybe an eg hatch or somthing please tell me. thanks and i forgot to put this in I have a 96 civic ex coupe

holy cluster batman...

Anyway, I'm getting that you want to lower your car alot and still have some suspension travel. You're going to want to pick up Koni yellow, SPxxx or whatever they are, that come race valved with a shortened shaft. Not cheap.

I've heard that the GC tophats will fit other coilovers, but I can't verify that, but if they do, you could get a set of those and the normal Koni yellow sports.

Seeing as you dont care about handeling, just get bigger rims to fill the wheel wells. Sure its stupid but you will have even more bling.

It sounds like you really plan to drop the car a lot. i don't think you will find any short body shocks off the shelf not as part of a kit other than the Koni RACE units. Since they are made for racing, they will ride very aggressively on the street. Be careful about putting the car too low, ride height should be more about function than about the look. Or at least be willing to live with a highly compromised car if you are going to be really low.

Just dont drop it that far, your oil pan and trnasmission will be glad. Run a 45 series tire or even a 50. I have 205 40 16 and they are a little on the rough side.
