Default d16z6 vs d16y8 to turbo

Hi guys, I read a few threads about the differences between the z6 and the y8 motors. One being the better built head on the y8 and the improved Intake Manifold. Another is the higher compression rate on the y8... If i am to turbo my car, wouldn't the z6 (with the lower CR) be of better choice? However, the thing is, that I'm most likely going to get my hand on a y8 since I can't seem to find any complete z6s around anymore... Also, I have plans on inheriting my brother's custom turbo kit he built for his z6. I was wondering if swapping that turbo kit over to a y8 would be safe? [considering I plan to use ARP head studs and probably have the head improved like my brother's z6 has].

Basically I'm trying to swap over a z6-built turbo kit onto a y8-motor and wondering if there would be any risky problems... possibly pertaining to the higher CR, the Intake Manifold, and the Head... since those were the only differences I read between the two motors..

Both are great to boost on in my opinion. Get the one you can find.
The comp ratio difference is not too significant to warrant any other change other then maybe 1psi or a degree or too in timing.

the d16z6 is better. i had a ef hatch with this motor and my friend did the turbo kit..et time was 14.1 @99 on street tires..full interior.not bad for a single cam on 6 psi..from a roll i could pull a 13.8 second gsr on drag radials..by 2 cars to 135 mph..don't recommend toping out on a d series but he wanted to see if he would catch me..
