geting my first eg
For a while iv been stuck with the Efs but now am getting ready to buy a 1995 civic hatch SI. i havent bought it yet because i wanna make sure its worth the price. first the car is white and the did a very shity job at painting almost everything inside also white including the whole dashboard wich is probably the thing i dislike most so i would like some i deas to fix that second it has a problem where when the checkengine light is on it onl revs to about 5000rpm and it seems like there no VTEC but when the light is not on it runs fine. the guy says that it only does it sometimes not always. thats basically all thats wrong with it. the car has an intake, a muffler and its dropped(cut springs) thats about it. the guy wants 2000 for it is it worth it and if it is does anyone have any ideas of what that checkenginelight could be and is it big trouble and one more thing a yellow light that says SSR or something like that was also on when i drove it. thnx everyone for your imputs

i think its a great price, pick it up. one reason its so cheap is probably because of all the shitty work that was done to it. but none of it is a hard fix. it might even be fun

i say swoop on it , i got my hatchie for 600 bucks eventhough its a cx but none the less a great platform, and yours is even better, but yeah i agree with him ^ whats the mileage.

if mileage is even a concern to him. most of us dont care cuz we just swap in another engine if one goes out. hell we swap engines if they dont go out!

sounds like the car is going into limp-mode , this is when the ecu has a prob. w/ info from 1 or more sensors on the motor, and runs off of a base map that wont let the car rev ,etc... its basically safe mode. I hope I did a decent job of explaining (Im no expert ) as far as the body of the car- I would offer (1500) being that its not running correct ,the airbag lite is on , the dash is painted white , its dropped wrong ,but in the end its your call , I paid 2850 for mine in mint shape w/ 160,xxx miles.

offer him 1500 because of the things wrong and now your going to have to replace the springs and shocks because those are done for... if he doesnt crack then pretend like you wont do it and make him wait for a day or two... you can always find another one... any hatch will do because you will change so much sh** on it that it doesnt matter what model you have... good luck

i sold my 88 crx si...black factory paint with a d16z6 in it...complete interior pretty much cherry. For a 95 civic si hatch in white...If you have a crx si...and its in good condition dont sell it...i regret it.....No matter all the suspension mods you add to a EG the Crx EF will always be the best handler.
Also find another hatch...i bought my 95 si for 5k.....it had a JDM b16a(sir 2) And it was completely stock with a/c and power steering. Rolling on 99 si's on stock suspension...thats the kinda deal you wanna find so you dont have to worry about dropping motors and t his and that. sorry post is so long
*edit....stupid me didnt read the whole post...good luck with the new car...

Re: (B18wagon)
i would say just replace it as long as you keep the steering colum bolted up there wont be a problem driving it to work and back for a couple of days (ive done it b4) just dont drive like a dick and get pulled over cuz that paint is gona be a bitch to get off and the dash board will never shine again if u actualy do get the paint off.
once it baked in the sun its done for
good deal tho 1600 is a steal, any cancer in the rear 1/4's?

Re: (B18wagon)
i think if u paint over the dash in the car its gona make a mess with overspray, and when u get in it at the end of the day you're gona be flying home if u know what i mean...
thats a good deal man expecialy if its a solid body...
