How long should i wait to use senthetic oil?

How many miles should i really wait before switching my built b16a to a full synthetic oil?
Also when i switch how important is it that i get all of the non synthetic out of the motor?

7000-10,000 miles should be fine. Keep in mind that Honda motors last for hundreds of thousands of miles on regular oil, synthetic is barely icing on the cake.
