Default HOW DO I DO A VACUUM LEAK TEST

my car idle gay. up and down, almost dying out, i had to turn up the idle full to keep it from dying out. its getting bad. someone told me to check for vacuum leak. how do i perform a vacuum leak on a 94 civic hatch cx. thanks.

buy a can of brake cleaner. Spray it around your vacuum lines and fittings. Take your time. When you spray it at something and your idle goes up, you found your leak.

Also, when's the last time the plugs/wires/cap/rotor/fuel filter/air filter were changed on the car? If you can't remember go to Auto Zone and buy all that stuff. Might be a good place to start.
