Default 13:4:1 compreesion for d16z6

i am building a nasty *** single cam motor for my ef. its a d16z6 vtec, i will be running scat rod, wisco high compression pistons for my block, but am undesided with the head, afew friends say skunk2, as well as ferrea.

note, do not want turbo. strickly na tune. theres are reason why hondas did not come turbo.

so post back on options for my head. just want to know what you guys think of as good head products.

This is a little O/T, but let me get this straight. You think turbos are unnatural for hondas, yet you want to run 13.4:1 compression with an enormous cam... and, let me guess, on street gas??

LoLs. Exactly what I was going to say. Honda's take really well to turbos.

Hell, I made over 200whp on a stock d16z6 at 10psi. Sure did feel like my honda engine liked the boost!!

nop. 98 octane, street tires and hoping to beet tsi, and gsr's......as to turbo's honda could only pattenize turbo uses on desels, the grade of moly they use in the motors are far less then toyota or nissan, thats why gas hondas are not turboed and will probley never be turboed from the factory, thats coming from honda tuning mag.

Hondas do real well with turbos when there in vaccum and then when there built they can do real well with boost. Not saying that puttin a turbo on will kill your car with proper tuning and fuel management and intercooler you can do some nice numbers with a stock sohc and some junkyard peices. The whole na sohc has been done if you go to the homemadeturbo site they have a calculator in there hybrid section they might have it here in ht. It basically lets you choose from mostly all sohc peices head, block, gasket deck height etc. You can make a sohc with some good compression on what your going to need to do is check out that calculator and see what you will get with oem parts in compression then add your aftermarket parts that way you can see what you will be shooten for. Sohc rule. I would post something about the head but i havent seen anything for the head that has caught my eye. I believe webcam makes a nice little bumpstick for the sohc

There are people out there doing it right you know. Other people not knowing how to properly turbo their Hondas is a shitty excuse for not doing it yourself. That shouldn't really matter unless, of course you plan on turboing your Honda the wrong way.

If you do it right then this comment doesn't apply.Maybe you have talked to people who are doing it wrong but if done properly Honda's can make some crazy #'s with boost and be reliable at the same time

You sound like quite the mechanical genius. Why don't you tell us how EVERYONE is turboing their Hondas "wrong"? Since you seem to know something that all of us don't.

This comment coupled with your 98 octane 13.4:1 compression goals lead me to believe you have absolutely no experience building Hondas. Sounds like you have a lot to learn.

OMG Honda Tuning mag said it??? I believe it now!!!11one!!! Seriously... who you gonna believe... the #s coming in from racetracks all over the country, or what a magazine says? Pop on over to the Drag Racing or Forced Induction forums and read some of the posts from the top Honda tuners on the continent about turbos. And then leave the mags where they belong: On the stands.
