Need help from anyone with a megan adjustable cam gear.
I bought a megan adjustable cam gear, but it has no instructions. I can't find any marks on it to indicate where TDC is at like on the stock gear. Where is this located or is there one on it at all?
yea, thanks for the help
i'm sure i can figure it out once it gets here by lining it up with the OEM cam gear. ebay is a great place if you know what you are looking for and you know what is junk and what is decent. i have bought many things from there with no problem. and no TDC marking is not ebay's fault, it is megan's fault.

when it comes to critical engine parts why would u cheap out to save like 20 bux...
why not just pay a little extra for a quality piece that will be more precise and last a lot longer.

because I've seen both AEM and Golden Eagle (which are supposed to be decent) cam gears busted. the megan cam gear looks like it doesn't have a weakness issue like those. the others were failing was right around where the camshaft goes thru, and as you can see in this pic, it is one solid piece.

the others seemed to be breaking because the spokes coming out from the center were too thin and came too far in to the center. even if for the rare instance the spokes would break on this one, the 6 bolts would still hold it in place enough to keep it from blowing up your valvetrain.
to each your own, if you like paying extra money for a name, even though it is inferior, go ahead.

TDC is exactly where the cam tooth goes, as far as putting it onto the cam. Are you saying that there are no markings on the gear for making adjustments? If so, I wouldn't put it on.
just got mine, it does have a TDC mark and has markings for adjustments. seems like a solid piece. only thing is that it requires a woodruff key to go in the notch of the cam. the stock cam gear has the key built into the gear. does anyone know what size key to use?
edit: after some searching, it looks like i'm just gonna take it to the parts store and see which fits.
