Integra brakes... need help....
alright, when i bought my 1996 integra gsr the abs light was on constant, there was a weird noise coming from the abs unit and the pedal sank a little when you held it down for a few seconds. i got a different abs unit and installed it yesterday. if the car is sitting for a while and i go to drive it now, the abs light is off and the brakes work great. then about 5 minutes later the light will come on and the pedal sinks again. i am thinking this is probably an air bubble or maybe the abs unit needs more fluid???
any help would be appreciated. thanks

I'll try to answer the two things you mentioned
1: pedal sank: Even though you changed out the ABS modulator, you still experience the same problem. Yes you are correct to assume that there is air in the system....maybe NOT in the modulator itself, but somewhere in the system. Try bleeding the brakes ( doing a search will result in threads with the proper steps on how to do so ) first. Then check all other components ( pads, calipers etc etc ) to ensure that they are working properly.
2: ABS light on: ABS lights don't come on unless there's a problem within the ABS system. Either a sensor has gone bad ( or just needs a good cleaning ) or the ABS modulator was bad. Since you replaced the modulator ( hopefully with a known good unit that has no malfunctions ), try cleaning the sensors then resetting the ECU to see if that helps. If the ABS light comes on again...making sure that your ABS modulator you've already switched out is good, see if you can pull up any codes to see if a or multiple sensors have gone bad.

alright... thanks for the info. i had done some searches on stuff about the abs. i am not sure how to clean the sensors? i dont get how the abs light is on sometimes and not on other times. also i had bled the brakes but i might have not done it enough or i might have done it wrong. i have changed brakes in my 93 prelude (pads, calipers, rotors, fluid) but it doesnt have abs and everything still works great. i will search more and see if there is something you need to do differently when bleeding brakes that have abs.
cleaning the sensors though... if you could help me on that one i would appreciate it. thanks

To touch more on this, if you bleed it, and the problem persists, maybe the master cylinder.
