Default MSD

i recently bought an msd modified distributor cap and external coil for my b16 hatch. the instructions suggest to put a 0.8ohm ballast resistor in-line of the positive wire going to the coil if the distributor is a stock style or points style distributor. i have never heard of this or seen this in anyone elses application, so is this really needed and has anyone done this. also where would u suggest the best place is to put the external coil?

you do not have a points style ignition, so the ballest resistor is not neccessary.

Honestly, inside the car would be great if you could rustle up enough spark plug/ignition wire to run it there. If that thing gets wet, enjoy not going anywhere. Ask me how I know .
