Default Spring Rate Balance

Ive been running Koni Yellows and Ground Controls on my GSR for 3 years now. Spring rates are 400F/400R. LSD, front/rear strut bars, tie bar, ITR sway bar, TCS rear LCAs and poly bushings all around.

Handling is close to neutral but still on the side of understeer. I can create a bit of oversteer from aggressive lift throttle. Im looking for information about the relationship between spring balance and oversteer. Is rear spring rate primarily responsible for creative oversteer in a FWD car or is it the balance of spring rates between the front and rear?

Can I get more oversteer from raising the rear springs 100lbs (400F/500R)or lowering the front 100lbs (300F/400F)?

Toe 0, 0. I have no way to adjust camber. Front is ~2.2* and Im not sure of the rear.

Its lowered a good amount too. Not really sure how much exactly maybe 2.5". Im sure its alot lower than whatever is ideal.

You have a great suspension setup on your car. However, a FWD will always be a naturally understeering vechile.

To further improve on the handling, it's time to shift the focus from car to driver. You can induce oversteer in a car by how you drive.

Do you know what trail braking and lift throttle oversteer is? These techniques will help you rotate your car around a corner better.

IMO, I think 2.5" is a bit on the low side. You start to loose some suspension travel on those Koni Yellows. Experiment raising it a little to see how your car handles.

What front/rear tire pressures are you running?

Camber has an effect on oversteer and understeer, see if you can find out exactly what the rear is at...

get a tighter rear sway bar for some oversteer

I already said I have the ITR Sway bar.
And I said in my original post I can get a bit of oversteer from aggressive lift throttle.

What is the relationship between spring balance front/rear and overteer/understeer?

Depending on some other factors, generally when you raise the rear spring rate with out changing the front Honda's will over-steer more. So if you have a higher rate spring in the rear than the front it should help tune out some of the under-steer inherent with a fwd setup.

Ok with that said does that mean 300F/400R will over steer more than 400F/400R ?

Keep the fronts and change the back. Go with 400f 500r. Springs are reasonably priced you should be able to get used ones and play with it untill your happy. Some people habe been kown to runn 400-600 for track cars but thats the line of the yellows, your in revavle land at 600r.

That what I thought but I wanted to make sure.
Over the years Ive gotten sick of the stiff ride and was thinking I could soften up the fronts gain more oversteer and a better ride.

Thanks
