My car is a 1991 Accord LX manual.

I just got a set of NGK blue spark plug wires and when I went to put them on, I noticed that they all seemed longer than my old ones (which I think are Denso). I checked the model number (RC-HE57 9059) and NGK's website said that this is the right one for my car. The two that I checked were a couple inches longer and had a lot more slack than the old ones. I put the old ones back on for now.

Has anyone else noticed this or is something funny going on?

Two inches? If it says that's the right one, maybe they made the wires like that so you have more room to install them or something...

 

I decided it didn't matter so I went and put 'em on. They ranged from 3/4" - 2" longer but they fit fine once everything was in place.

 

believe it or not... honda oem wires are some of the best plug wires you can find anywhere. But if you like your wires blue.......

 

i used to sell auto parts: they're longer because they're cheap and use the same part number for multiple engines

And expletive its hard to type!!! And don't laugh...I cut off the tip of my ******* finger with a hedge trimmer today (right through the bone and hanging by skin). 5 stitches, a hot nurse, and lots of pain killer later I have a legit excuse to flip everyone the bird!!!

Listen to "Schmitey", he's right on the money. You're the unwitting victim of the "One part fits many" Corporate two step. In the back of the NGK catalog, you'll most likely find a cross reference listing by part number. There will most likely be a surprising number of cars that number "fits".

***You might think of painting it fluorescent Orange for added effect. Hey, Not only did you loose part of your digit, but you're dealing with more than enough pain. SO WHY NOT Have fun with it !!!

powned man lol, yeah if i didn't have to change the bandage everyday sure as hell I'd spray paint it!

yeah it sucked, but damn if codene (sp?) isn't some good ****! I'm high as a kite just can't drive. Ironically the shirt I wrapped my finger in was my blood donor shirt, might make a good Halloween Costume lol.

another FYI I just got TomTom navigator for my pocket PC, its freaking sweet! I got this hot sounding british voice giving me turn by turn directions...maybe its the codine

i have no idea dude and didn't even know i typed it...like i said codine is good ****! As good as I feel now I really wonder what it would do to mix alcohol with it despite the warnings lol
