All Gaskets and Parts when changing Timinig Belt
1993 h22 Prelude
my oil leak has been getting progressively worse as these things do. i need to know what all gaskets and seals should be considered to change. mechanic said this...
cam seals and crank seal
i had the belt and water pump replaced about 40k miles ago and in the same month aparently the mechanic jacked up the auto-tensioner and when i took it back he said he didnt have the tool to fix it. he was full of **** and i knew it, so i ended up taking it to someone else and paying for the whole thing again. that said, here i am again having to pay someone to break into my motor so.... i would like to get all possible seals / gaskets / whatever fixed while he is down there... keep in mind the water pump and tensioner have 40k miles on them and should be ok ???
here is my estimate....
parts (timing belt, balance shaft belt, cam seals and crank seal)
$99.41
labor (6.5 hours)
455.00
supplies ???? (wtf is this)
$39.73 ( i'll be damned if i pay $40 for some hand towels )
total w/ tax
$604.23
seems alittle high to me.....
once again if someone could run down all possible seals/gaskets/anything else that should be replaced down there that could be the cause of my oil leaks. thanks so much, i appreciate the help of you knowledgable peeps !!

Cam seals-2 on t-belt side of engine, 1 for each cam
1 distributor o-ring (exhaust cam, tranny side of engine)
1 cam seal(i recommend the 3 o-ring aftermarket one, intake cam)
Front Crank seal
Valve cover gasket( can be re-used if not nicked, just be sure to use rtv)
Balance shaft seal( radiator side of engine if looking at the crankpulley)Get a balance shaft seal retainer( See TSB) Like $3 plus it comes with a free oil dipstick o-ring.
Balance shaft gear case( i think it uses a square cut o-ring)
Im sure i missed one or two, if your leak is coming from the front of your engine.
could also be leaking from your headgasket, oil cooler o-ring, vtec solenoid, rear main seal( if replaced the tranny has to be removed.)
Hope this helps.

the price seems about right, for all the front engine seals and the two belts.
of course you could do it yourself for much less, but i'm sure you knew that and its not an option for you now.
anyhow good luck
