4th Gen Accord Power locks
I have a 1992 Honda Accord EX thats 4door and a 5 speed manual. Here's my problem: When I use either power lock switch on the driver or passenger door, all the door locks go up or down EXCEPT the passenger door. So I don't think there's a problem with the control unit for the power locks. ANOTHER thing I notice is that the power lock on the passenger side TRIES to move up and down when I move the switch, but it just doesnt go all the way. It barely moves, you can't tell unless you really stare at it. So i took off my door panel, but couldnt get to the root of the problem. Any help?
on my 5th gen my power locks go into lock awesome, i turn the key from the outside all doors lock up fast, but when i go back to unlock the car only the driver door unlocks and then i have to hit the unlock button on the driver side for them all to unlock, i dunno what it is, i just didnt bother with it cause its not that big of a inconvenience.
You need to find a wire, it goes from the switch to the lock.... you may have a broken hook, the little piece of plastic which holds the wire and allows it to move and open the lock or lock it.
ok my mistake, i came back to this post after walking away for a while and completely forgot you said you already have the door panel off, look for your actuator, a little black motor type thing attached to the hook which should be on your door lock, im only suspecting this because you said the lock attempts to go up but only moves barely, it could be wire problems and its not getting enough power, or the actuator itself could be about dead
The locks are supposed to be like that. Only the driver's side opens when you use your key. I think if you turn it twice then all the locks open.
I ripped the plastic insulator covering the door components. Is it necessary to replace it? I did not see any "hook" or anything like that. I traced the wire coming from the switch down to the door latch. I tried to remove the entire latch assembly, but the power window rail was in the way. Before I go through the trouble of removing the power window assembly, I want to know if I found the right part that you guys meant by "hook" and "actuator". Here's the diagram I am using for my door.

Here is the diagram I am using. Remember, i have a 4th gen.

AND, #13 in this pic is the plastic sheet that I ripped when opening up my door. IS IT NECESSARY to repalce it?

read that, keep going through the pages and youll learn how that actuator works and how everything else is connected, some cars have them in different places but once you learn how they work and what they look like itll be a simple process.
i love that website, its like Dummys guide to everything
