ok, i searched this topic over and over again and still everyone still has different opinions on how to do it. pull this, pull that, disconect this, no don't do that you'll hurt this. . does anyone on here really knows how to do a compresion test correctly, won't fry anything and get the proper numbers. no offense to anyone but there is 840 topics on it and no one seems to agree with each other. there cannot be 50 ways to do a simple compresion test. what do i pull, ecu fuse, what line to the distributor do i pull, what fuse. I am just lost bad.

If it's not common sense then why have so many people successfully accomplished the task?
If you have a better answer than mine, GIVE IT, don't just call somebody out because you have nothing good to add.
Furthermore, if you search you'll find that article is part of the controversy.
... such as don't just go cranking it 5 times and see what the reading is... watch the gauge AS you crank it to see if the compression jumps right up, or if the compression slowly builds with each stroke (basic test for testing bad rings vs. bad valves). (all of which is explained both in directions and the manual)
Furthermore if it were merely common sense i would not have added that the manual and directions are required... because all the necessary info is in those 2 sources.

Disconnect:
-power to distributor=two pin plug @ distributor
-power to injectors=disconnect each injector individually(or injector resistor box)....
-remove all spark plugs
-crank engine with throttle wide open until needle stops moving up, thats your psi in each cyl.
you may have some dtc's after the test is done, but you could just clear them buy disconnect the battery...
