Default Idling low, Block Heater, Milage/gas question. Thanks

I have a 1997 Civic Si with a b16 sirII swap. Runs well, starts well, v-tec works well. Stopping at a light though, or simply in neutral it will sometimes dip to like 200-300rpm.....

Was wondering what the proper idle rate for this engine should be, and what the problem could be? After reading a few threads I have a few ideas, but solutions would be great also.

Umm what kind of milage should the vehicle be getting?? I've been getting roughly 26mpg driving fairly conservatively. The car also use to run on 93 octane, now was running on 91(highest I have) and I put 89 in it on my last fill. Will this have any adverse effects?? Please let me know, if so I might have to stick with 91 for the rest of its life.

And the car is going to have to be run in winter? How hard is it so set up a block heater?? Thanks

actually on ur TACH the line that is right after the zero (the little line) is 500 rpms

so if you are 200 - 300 rpms above that you should be idling at 7 - 800 which is fine.

im pretty sure about this, a second opinion would be great tho (in case im wrong)

up. Is this true.....? If it is then sometimes it revs at 500rpm not 200-300. But anyways more input would be great.

I believe that little line is 500rpm as well . Just turn up the idle a little bit and see what it does for it . Good Luck !

800rpm is the stock idle speed with no load on the motor.

Block heaters are easy to install , I had one on my other Civic . They come in differant styles , I had one that spliced into the lower radiator hose . ( DO NOT FORGET TO UNPLUG IT BEFORE YOU TAKE OFF ) And as for the gas mileage , I have no clue . But I'm getting 30-35 mpg in my SI on 87 octane .

you can get an engine block heater from majestic honda the stock ones screw into the back of the block, I like my idle to be right under 1000rpms, 800-900 is good

how to adjust your idle, its the same for your b16 and just about every civic
