Default Built B18C5 Ohio-style: 201whp / 128ft-lbs MUSTANG :)

One hell of a tough dyno... A boosted car I tuned that put down 280whp put down 349 on a dynojet locally. Keep that in mind when you look at the numbers. I personally think the torque curve speaks for itself...

Comparison of street tune vs dyno final:

Couple engine bay shots: (sorry, camera phone)

Dyno video: (sorry, camera phone. quicktime/3g format)
http://www.pgmfi.org/~blundar/...o.3g2

Setup:
81.5mm USDM B18C5 block
CP 12.5:1 shelf pistons
Stock Rods, ARP Rodbolts
OEM headgasket
Portflow head
Blox B aka Sk2St2 cams
STR Cam Gears (Intake +2, Exhaust 0 - ran out of time)
BKR-7E plugs, .032 gap
ITR Intake Manifold / TB
Stock Airbox (!!!)
ANR header
2.5" exhaust
RC440cc injectors
Crome Engine Management
93 Octane pump gas

Car was built by Zerolift Autolab, http://www.zerolift.com
Car was tuned by me. 8 hours street tuning, 3 hours dyno. Drives better than most stock hondas, and makes the power. Very happy with this one, as is its owner Kent.

Very Nice, its funny, because it made extremely similar power and torque to mine. Not to mention the torque curve is near identical to mine. Definitely did some good tuning man. Thats a smooth kansas torque curve.

For referrence: Look at how similar our graphs are!

I'm curious how the dynojet vs mustang numbers will compare on this one...

Thanks for all the compliments guys. I was rather happy with the outcome. I will hopefully get the car to a dynojet within the next week. Hoping to put down around 225 at the wheels. Keep posted for results.

Judging by the graph, I'm surprised you didn't rev her out to 10k.....

I did 184/132 on a mustang dyno, and 212/154 on a dynojet. Thats almost exactly 15%. You can do the math.

Good #'s for a 1.8!

This header was kicked around and abused sometime in its previous life - it's a pretty old header. We had to reweld several runners, fix this, fix that... It obviously is working halfway decently, though. I think Kent got it from Ressler, and where he got it who knows?

And thanks 92TypeR.

I've been revving my b18c5 out to 9500 for a good long time.

Stock bottom end.....

It's not my car - it's a customers. I have a pretty damn good track record of not blowing up cars at this point and I'd kinda like to keep it that way. The consensus on here and among the other engine builders I've spoken with is that stock rods don't like life above 9000 RPMs very much, rodbolts or not. Horsepower is already dropping - 9300 RPM revlimiter is where I draw the line of compromise between power and longevity. Maybe I'm a chicken? Who knows.

I pretty much have the same set up, running endyne rollerwaves 12.5:1 compression, 81.5 bore, with the sk2 stg2 cams, and anr- hearder with merge collecter. made 204 to the wheel, with about 145 ft/lbs. Just mentioning, but the torque looks a little low, I also went with an ls bottom end, so I gues an ls/vtec makes that much of a difference. Good #s though.

Reason why is the ls crank has a longer stroke vs. this C5, that would explain your torque. Did you notice this was on a Mustang dyno either?

Good numbers Dave, gives me an incentive to get better header/exhaust and have you tune mine on the dyno again
