Default adjusting clutch, brake, and gas pedal height

so I'm 6'4" and any extra leg room is a godsend, I noticed when i push the brake pedal all the way down there's still enough room behind the pedal to fit my foot back there. same goes pretty much for all 3 pedals.
Is there anyway to make all 3 sit closer to the floor/firewall? It'd be great if there is.

after taking a close look at them it looks like you can only adjust the brake and clutch pedals and even then its not much.

i'm going to try and figure out some kind of modification to the pedals themselves to allow the face of the pedal to be farther away.

i think if I do this and the seat height adustment mod then I'll finally fit like a normal sized person.

you dont want to play with those adjustments, they are for the master cylinder, not for pedal position....your pedals would feel real funky if you did that...

you need to get the pedals heated up and bent, just be sure they are still strong....

yeah i'm not going to mess with that, it'll just cause trouble.

I think I could heat up the gas pedal, but I don't think thats gonna work w/ the clutch/brake:

Maybe its different for a 4th gen but the adjustments on my clutch do more than just adjust the master cylinder, though one of the adjustments does have some effect on the master cylinder. I couldn't find any info in the Helms PDF I have, but in my crappy Chilton's manual it had specs for the free play, height, and throw of the pedal, all of which I could adjust using the 2 locknuts. I was able to make my clutch throw shorter, and disengage/engage lower to the floor when I put it at the tighter end of the specs in the Chilton's manual. All I could do with the brake was remove some of the free play. All in all my clutch feels the way it should have when I got the car so I figure its worth adjusting as long as you don't get carried away and stay within spec.

is there any reason that the clutch/brake pedals are closer to the driver by about 1.5-2" than the gas pedal? just making them even w/ the gas pedal would be a big help.

yeah I don't think there's much room for adjustment though so i'm thinking about modifying the pedals themselves. Thanks for the input!!

Im 6'4" as well in a 5th gen and leg room doesn't seem to be that much of an issue. Just make sure you have the steering wheel tilted all the way to the top. Its no worse than my old 5th gen accord. I wouldn't bother messing around with the pedal height.

Do you ever notice that the rear view mirror sits right in your line of sight causing a wicked blind spot?

yeah, the gas pedal sitting that low is annoying for heel-toeing.....

every video i watch the japanese drivers put some sort of pad or something to raise it up so they can heel toe better....

Yeah I bought a ricey Razo pedal cover to bring my gas pedal up farther so its closer to the other pedals. Pedal cover came with adjustable spacers for height. Also has an adjustable plate that slides out toward the brake pedal for easier heel-toeing. That and I took the stock rubber pads off my brake and clutch and put grip-tape on them (like the stuff for skateboard decks) so my feet don't slip when they are wet. That effectively lowered both pedals by a bit. After doing both those things, the pedals feel just right.

wheel is all the way up. if it wasn't an issue I wouldn't start a thread about it.

Yeah, you might be able to get it at a sports equipment store. If not just head to any skate shop, they'll have it.

Good idea with the grip tape. I have pedal covers, but they're metal and suck when my feet are wet. Winter's coming, and I can only imagine how slippery they'll be with snow-covered shoes!

Yeah when I got my car the girl that owned it had those cheap Kragen/APC pedal covers with the fake carbon fiber. First time it rained my foot slipped right off the brake pedal so I pulled off the fake carbon inserts and covered them in grip tape. Then a while later the clutch cover completely fell off so I removed them immediately and threw them out. I don't really trust cheap pedal covers on my brake or clutch pedal as they see more force than the gas pedal and when I step on them I *need* them to work. As snowblind said, any skate shop should have grip tape in big sheets.

A good note on install for the grip tape:
Cut a square bigger than your pedal, stick it on, then just go around the edges with a file and it will grind it off to the perfect shape of your pedal. Its just a quicker and safer way than trying to cut it with something.

yeah ive got some cheap pedal covers that came on my car when i bought it and the rubber rings i guess are all missing except for one (for grip) so i took em off and the worn out oem pedals are worse... grip tape sounds like a good really good idea
