probably a dumb question
You would think so, but it doesn't work, or so I've been told. Although anything is possible given enough money.
Anyone know exactly why it won't work? Something to do with the cam belt routing being very different on that end of the head or something?

dont think it would be possible unless u were to weld that head on i know iv seen ppl do votec heads on truck engines but not sure about imports . . sure B series and D series are completly different when it comes to the head and blocks mixing togethor. plus a b-series head is 2 big for a d-series block dont think it would align correctly . . . . . all i can say is try finding out ur self . .

Putting the DOHC ZC head on a SOHC block has been done before without welding, but it is not worth it.
I believe the DOHC ZC is the only dohc D-series.
The reason you cant put it on, I think, is because the sohc block is too small and the points where you bolt the head to the block is different on the Sohc block as compared to the dohc block.

the hole head wont work with out extenzive machining
water and oil passages dont line up
headgasket wont seal
then fidning a timing belt and tensioner might be hard
and technically no the zc is the not the only dohc d-series
the the d16a 1/2/3/ are all dohcs too but they are so close to being a zc that they are just refered to as zc's

Yep as ive personally seen one in person. The owner said it definitely wasnt worth it, but that he had all the parts laying around and access to the right tools to do so.

what is the black top d16a 2 or 3? I have a good spare head and all the other parts off a d16a integra. guess it isn't worth it but still good to know in case something like this comes up in the future.
