Default Alternator

I don't know if it's my alternator or not. I don't really use my Prelude daily. I mostly use it on the weekend. My current battery, the AC Delco, is only about 2 years old. Everytime I don't turn on the car for a day, the car won't start. I have to jump start it all the time then if I drive it for a short distance, sometimes the car won't start either.

I heard some whinning noise on my engine especially at low RPM & idling. A friend of mine told me that when the alternator is bad & needed to be replace, you can hear the whinning noise from the engine. The thing is that the noise was there about 5 years ago when I replaced my timing belt, tensioner, & water pump.

What do you think guys? Could this be the battery or my alternator problems? Thanks guys
