http://www.streetimports.com I bought it then replaced it with the Toda. Not very good quality and the welds are total ***. But you get what you pay for.

As mentioned they're all over ebay right now. I'd be interested in seeing a direct comparison between the real JDM header and the knock off.

SSautochrome has a knockoff, $195 http://www.ssautochrome.com . i've had it on the car now for a few months not too much to complain about, i had to clean up the ports with a dremel but after that seems good enough for $200

JUST BUY THE USED JDM ITR FOR LIKE 225-250...

no quality sacrifice and no risk, same performance, lower price.

If your looking for a cheaper alternative don't cut yourself short and buy one of those cheesy half *** welded knockoffs get a Strup performance header, only a few hundred and much nicer fit and finish (2.5" JDM sized collector as well)

No Actually Charlie Strup is the Ex Manager of DC Sports, his products IMO are much better quality and No Mild SS flanges like DC used to.

Agreed. I think the knockoff JDM header you're remembering was being offered by a h-t sponsor a while back. They offered the header in black and polished SS. Everyone went crazy over them cuz the black was being sold for like $149 shipped, or something crazy. Lots of people bought them, even though the seller never had any dyno numbers to back up any of their performance claims. Once everyone noticed how shitty the headers were made (specifically the welds and fitment issues) compared to the real JDM headers, the seller's credibility went down the drain and they basically disappeared.

I think they came out with a 2nd generation knockoff JDM header that supposedly had nicer welds, but I never heard any end-user reviews. :shrugs:

Yup, you buy a new JDM ITR header and it rusts over and looks used anyway soon thereafter, and you can polish up either a used or new one the same.....

JDM ITR used is the best deal...

Polishing up a used real one worked well for me:

Does it stay polished like that or does it turn brown again after time?

it'll turn brown eventually after time
and did anyone dryno a knock off before they said anything.
If I am not mistaken, i don't want to mention anyone's names because I am not sure, BUT, the knock off makes similar if not the same or more power.
So why not, I rather spend 200 than 400

if someone could supply a OEM JDM ITR header i'd be willing to possibly buy the knockoff or strup, pay for the dyno time and do a back to back test.

Any of you guys have experience with this specific header. Looks nice and is cheap, $230 shipped! If anyone has any experience with this header or the company in general post it up. It's the mugen replica found here.

I'm gonna search and see what i can find.
