Default how much power can u get by running racing fuel?just read please

ok my friend and i have a bet going, i told him that if an engine is set up right, you can increase power significantly by putting in racing fuel. he says maybe like 10 or 20 horse at most, but i could swear i saw an article somewhere that had an integra putting out like 310 hp on 91 octane, of course it was turbo, but when the car ran 101 racing fuel it had like 380 or so. SO! am i right or is he? can somebody provide info i can use to prove im right or to prove that im wrong, please help, there is 20 bucks at stake!!! any info thats from a web page of fact sheet would be really nice, please help fellow honda enthusiasts!!!

You have much to learn young one

On boosted cars, the reason why you can make more power on race gas is because you can raise the boost level (given its tuned), and with race gas with the higher octane rating it its alot less likely detonation will occur.

In short, the higher the octane rating, the more you can compress the air/fuel mixture without it self combusting.

For example....someone running 15psi or so can only run that much on pump (93 octane) gas without detonation ....If they run some 114 or higher octane they can set the boost level higher.
With boost its all in the tuning.

With all motor applications you can run a very high compression ratio "safer" on race gas then pump.

race fuel is usually leaded isnt it? that will destroy ur cat. when your cat gets destroyed, your o2 sensor isnt going to read right and ur car will run in limp mode and you will lose hp cause ur car is running rich.
