I've heard of cars smoking in VTEC before, but the reason i'm worried is that in my last head i had a cracked valve guide. And it smoked a lot. And now when i get on it with this new head it still smokes.

-milled
-ported
-crower valvetrain
-ITR valves
-GSR cams (for now)
-Megan header
-eGay intake

don't know if the mods matter, but my car definitely didn't smoke with the stock head. Just wondering if this is normal. Also should I check the oil more often now since it's burning it off more?

 

ok....sorry for not searching earlier.....just searched and found like 1000000000 results.

probably fuel since i'm running an ecu that's chipped for blox b's

probably not oil since my rings were perfect before this, and probably not the HG since it's brand new.

 

what color is the smoke?

my car blow black smoke too when its in VTEC...

 

black=fuel
blue=oil
white=coolant

 

sounds like you need to have the ECU tuned properly........its running very rich in VTEC.

 

if its black then your running to rich.

 

yeah, i have an IAT code, and am getting like 20mpg, so it's def. fuel.

 

ok just so u know thats not good... I mean lean is worse but u still wanna take care of that. Good luck
