Default wich pistons rings to use?

I'm putting OEM jdm p30 pistons in my jdm b18b and I was wondering wich pistons rings to use and if oem rings are better then aftermarket????

Thanks!!

Parts that I have bought = p30 pistons and locks, crane Springs and retainers, crower 404 cams

taking my head off and sending it away to a machine shop first thing monday!!

use oem rings w/ oem pistons...you wont have any problems..

but do I use the b18b (my block) or the b16 (cause of the pistons) or does it not matter cause theay are both the same bore size???

I'm pretty sure there's only one set of oem rings for the stock bore size, no matter the motor, as long as it's b-series 81mm.

OEM rings run around $100, many builders use the Hastings rings because they are high quality and run around $50 from there web site.

Nice parts you have for your build, I have the same parts except for PR3 pistons instead. I was wondering how you were going to tune this build? I was going to use a chipped P28 with a basemap taylored to these mods for a temp solution until I can get it dyno-tuned. How about you?

I'm definitly going to get it dyno and for now chip my obd1 P75 ecu!!!! But from what i have herd to really unleash the poer I would need to look into hondata or something along those line!!!

crome or neptune seems to be a worthy engine management..if you have a good tuner in your area...

my friend is using neptune making 202whp on a 1.8l b16...

I use Nippon Piston Ring.. they supply rings to Honda so it's kind of OEM but cheaper. Works for me!

Ya, I have seen those on Ebay for $50 also, I just haven't seen too many builds using them or I would try them.

Thanks, I think I will saty away!!! I am lloking for after market rings cause I know a distributer and I get stuff under cost...oem stuff is expensive!!!

What are good after market rings???
