Default B-SERIES CANTON PAN A NO-GO!

i thought id post this in here since most of your do track events and at one point or another, you thought about a baffled pan.

my experence with the canton pans have been nothing but bad! i purchased one of their pans about 6 months ago and there was major fitment problems. the 2 problems were:

1. did not clear the rear halfshaft
2. did not clear the block girdle

they have redone the pan and everything fits fine according to them. so i pruchased a new pan and recieve it yesterday and what do you know! it still does not fit. even though they redid it to to clear the girdle and halfshaft, it will not fit with the windage tray!

i spoke with canton this morning and they said the pan was engineered with the use of no windage tray

anyhow, now im stuck with paying to ship the pan back to them to get a refund.

375+shipping makes it close 400 for damn pan that doesnt even fit.

Got pics of the inside? I'd be super leery about loosing the windage tray.

FWIW I installed my moroso rr pan yesterday and it fit like a beaut.

That is so not what I want to hear..... must..... resist buying......

I echo Pooface's concern that you shouldn't lose the windage tray. Did you ask them why they designed a pan that would remove this piece....is there something (technical/beneficial) they know that we don't?

Some places to purchase from:
Google shows it for $214 here, http://propowerperf.com/index....rt=5a

$240 here, http://store.summitracing.com/...earch

Ended up costing me $340 CAD tax in at MOPAC, not a bad deal imo.

If you think that's bad, check out what us neon owners have to do for them to fit.
http://dope.dhs.org/Temp/OilPanFix/how-to/

There was even welding splatter on the outside AND inside of the pan.

*middlefinger*

I had to cut the hell out of that flywheel splashguard thing. Didn't you?

Also, mine leaks, conveniently right under that guard (installer error I'm sure. )
That means my manifold/turbo/downpipe are coming back out, and that also means my radiator is coming back out, and I'm pissed. DAMNIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111

Damn. I don't know if they've changed their pan...no info on their site.

I heard the pan requires notching to fit with the Honda transmission braces, as well as cutting/grinding for axle clearance near the alternator.

****.
