MD inspection, anyone do this?
i'll be needing to put my car through MD inspection once im done working on it. Does anyone know someone that could help me out? The only problems i intend to encounter are the coilovers and exhaust.
Well for the exhaust you can pass if it is a baffled muffer, such as a Apexi WS, basically it can't be straight through like the N1. As for the coilovers I would raise the car to legal height which is 22" from the center of the headlight to the ground.
Whats a blind inspection? do you guys no any1 that does inspections? i was planning to run a straight pipe from the cat to the ES oval muffler(w/o a resonator) d'you still think i can pass. the exhaust is straight through but looks stock and isnt all that loud
From what I know for an exhaust to pass MD inspection it needs a cat and a muffler. Should exit out around the same as stock. And no exhaust leaks. As for the suspension as long as there's no gaps/slop in the springs when the car is on the lift. Example cut springs on some cars will still pass if there's tension still on the suspension when they raise the car up.

A blind inspection is basically when u get a mechanic to sign off on your inspection to say everything is a go with your car. But its so many different reason you could fail its rediculous so i say save all the trouble and get a blind inspection
It's a huge fine it MD to have it signed off without being properly fixed. MD doesn't screw around. If your car is not perfect it won't be passed. Shops pay alot of money to do all this, alot of them stopped doing inspections cause it's not really worth it. They make money by fixing whats not right on your car. MD is so picky a regular mechanic can't do the inspection you have to have taken the test and be up on all the latest stuff.
