Default 92 SI SUNROOF

When I open my sunroof all the way there's no problem. At first when I tried to close it it is seemed like it got stuck. I would have to help it close. Now the other day I tried to close it and it just layed down on the roof of my car. When I got out of the car and took a look, it had scratched the roof of my car. I had to lift it and hold the close button. I already greased the rails so I know that's not the problem.
Sorry about the quality of the pics but you get the basic idea of what I'm talking about.

LOOK BELOW FOR RE SIZED PICS!!!

If I knew how I would.
Yeah I greased it and then this started to happen about a couple weeks later.

Yeah I might as well try both greasing it again and do what you said. We'll see what happens.

Wow man, you said the pictures where big but wow.

The thing in the middle that, that guy is talking about won't help. Or at least I don't think it will. It helps open and closing, you need help raising it. Remember when Bret had to open his sunroof when it was broken? He used a screw driver and did it manually. It's like a joint in it isn't working right.

Wow, mine does exactly the same thing, except I didnt notice it till I HEARD it scratching. Well, I assume that when you open it, it slides back fine right? And when you try and close it, one side goes fine, and the driver side (perhaps?) tries to close immediately, right? Well, i can't tell you how to fix it, but i can tell you how to stop it from doing that whenever you want to use the sunroof. When it is all the way back, take your fingers and put them on the front bottom lip on the inside of the glass on the side with the problem. You can pull it forward enough that i wont even try to go down and it'll work like it should. I imagine the problem is that it needs grease (like everyone has said), but I greased mine and it didnt help. Perhaps it is the combination of a lack of grease and a worn out sunroof motor?

I actually saw it happens so check it out:

When he opens it it's cool. When he goes to close it (while it's closing) the glass drops onto the top of his hood and pulls the rubber across the top of this sun roof. Look at the first picture.

I have this same problem as well. I just thought it was me though. I let it scratch the old paint job, but not this one.

It sucks, I have to unplug the damn plug so people don't mess with it.

Maybe there is trash in the area?

My wife's 1992 Si did that exact same thing.

I tightened some phillips screws in the track and greased the track and it stopped.

Greasing the track does no good if the track is loose.

Sounds good I'll try that tomorrow and post what happens.
I think I already said I don't know how to make them smaller.
