Taken from the APEXi web site...

Q: Will the VAFC work on 4 cyl. Accords?
A: No. The VAFC will not work correctly on 4 cyl. Accord models. 4 cylinder Accords incorporate a slightly different method of VTEC control causing the engine to hesitate at approx. 5000 RPM when the VTEC engagement point is changed. The VTEC AFC will work correctly on 6 cyl. Accords. Please double check our Documentation/ VAFC Updates page for the latest VAFC application charts

I don't have one but that's what the web site says. Also, you should be able to find them for well under $300.

That's crap... I know several Accord guys that use them (including myself) and they work fine. VTec cross-over has to be set around 3500 though

so you have a accord and it works fine right? what year is your accord and is it a 4cyl or a 6 cyl cause according to apexi's website it works fine on 6 cyl accords? I have a 4 cyl 96 accord ex vtec so im sceptic if it will work properly.

well im just saying it is more than just a power/ground hookup....since all the wires for it either tap into or splice into wires by the ecu i would say knowing where the ecu is located is pretty vital to installation.

heres an answer to your question - yes it is any good. it does a good job of what it does. when using for a tuning source it has its limitations.
is it worth 300 dollars? possibly if you really want it, depends on condition, i wouldnt pay that much for one as used ones can be pickedup for about $100 and they still do the same thing...
