Could a bad Catalytic Converter give vtec lag?

Default Could a bad Catalytic Converter give vtec lag?

would like to know if a cat could make vtec bog..sometimes my vtec kicks in smooth all the way and sometimes it bogs n and out my cat is rusty and i was debating if it could be the cat if so i would replace it

its not vtec solenoid..and its not that i dont have enuff oil i just want to know if it could cause my vtec to bog cause its not getting enufff airflow through it

Agreed. And clogged cat will affect certain things regardless if it's VTEC or not.

So does the bogging ONLY occure when in VTEC? Or does it bog down overall? If it does overall, then that could be spark plugs, wires, etc.

just when i kick on vtec..when it changes over it bogs like crazy i am thinking its the cat my homie with a 00 civic si said its my cat cause he had same problem but my brother-in law swears its not my cat cause hes a manager at a tranny shop so hes a pro at cars i dont know who to believe..

yes i have i put new denso spark plugs in and i did check my wires i wnt to know if its my cat not my spark plugs etc..

if ur cat was clogged, the problem would be consistent. it's probably not the solenoid either. have you gotten a full tuneup recently?

My catalytic converter was stolen . At the garage which was "recommended " by the insurance company they are telling me it now needs a new vtech solenoid? It was running perfectly before this. All oil changes on time. What is happening?
