CRX guages and seats
Will the guage cluster and front and rear seats from a 89-91 crx fit in my at 89 dx hatch?? if someone knows the link let me know i tried to search but found nothing maybe not typing the right subject for search.
yes the 88-89 cluster will fit but the 90-91 cluster is more rounded at the top but that can be changed....the seats should fit without any adjustments though.

question reguarding this... can you swap out the internals from a 90-91 style cluster into an 88-89 cluster? I really really want to get a UKDM 1.6i VT cluster (9500 rpm, 150mph) but do not want to change the dash to fit the 90-91 style.... anyone do this before?

88-89 Civic/CRX will fit in 88-89 Civic/CRX without fail or issue. I have an 89 CRX Si cluster in my 88 Civic STD and it works perfect.
You can use the 90-91 in an 88-89 or vice versa as long as you take the cover with it that works. I know that as long as the brackets, cover and cluster all get installed in one shot they will work together in harmony. The only iffy part is, I am unsure if the UK speedometer is mechanical or electronic. If it is electronic, you need to get the VSS from an EG or later model to fit your style transmission (B-series, D-series, whetever) and run the line to the speedometer. You might also want to invest in a HELMS CD-ROM electronic manual for the CRX (check ebay, I bought mine for $1, for the hatch though) and check out how to get the fuel warning light up and running. That is unique to the EDM/JDM clusters as we did not get that here in the US or Canada.

I have the helms on my computer... *free* lol, but most of the clusters I see on ebay say they are cable driven speedos.... so thats a plus. the low fuel light I would worry about later... but don't the 90-91s have a different kind of cover for the cluster than 88-89s? I don't just mean the top of the dash, but the black plastic in front of the cluster.... would anything fit right in as a replacement on mine? (89 sedan)
Make sure you get the 90-91 cluster cover (the outer cover will include the front part with the rear window heater button and e-blinker switch) and brackets and the 90-91 cluster will fit with no issue.
