Default dx auto ecu

Will a dx auto ecu work on my dx head swap on my cx bottom end? My car is a 5 speed and theres a nice auto ecu in a junk yard. Also will a vtec computer work with my setup or will it mess things up because of not ingauging? Witch intake manifold flows better? EX, DX, or aftermarket like OBX?

I have a cx that I recently put a b7 head on. I have the stock cx intake manifold and I can see the difference in port sizes. But I need a dx or maybe a vtec computer to see full power.

Have any of you ever experimented with any of this, Would the motor still run ok with a vtec ecu?

The auto ecu will work on your setup. You'll have a CEL because the ecu won't be able to read the auto tranny sensors.

I would say go ahead and pick up that Auto ECU from the junkyard. You can have it converted to a Manual ECU and you won't throw any codes. This would be the best alternative for running your setup (D15B8 (P05) bottom end with a D15B7 (P06) Head). I do these kind of conversions, but i'm a little far away from ya. You might be able to find a Honda ECU tuner in your area that is comfortable with modifying it and can do the conversion.

It should still run fine with a CEL. I don't think the computer will put you in limp mode for an auto tranny issue.

Yah unless one of you already tried it and it ***** up I think I might try the auto ecu before the junk yard clears the civic out. I just cant stand the 5,500 revlimiter of my p05 ecu. I found that the dx head b7 makes 102 hp at 5900 rpms so I am not even seeing 100hp before cut out.
