Skunk2 INTAKE MANIFOLD = CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ??????????????
I'm going to help my best friend install the skunk manifold on his gsr. He has type R cams and i/h/e. Did anyone get the check engine light (CEL) after they installed the skunk manifold?
Thanks

he probably will get a CEL since he's removing the GS-R dual runner intake manifold for a single runner intake.
the GS-R manifold's secondary butterfly thingy is controlled by a sensor which is controled by the ECu. one the ECU does not see that sensor hooked up it will set a CEL.
he will need to have his ECU re-programmed.

Not true, the IAB is not ECU controlled, you can remove it without getting a CEL. The ECU does check to see whether VTEC engages though, so could that be what is causing the CEL ?
