I don't think they made F engines with DOHC... ...you might be looking for an H series... ..but.... since you are a civic owner ..(at the wrong forum btw...)... you need a B series... ...B18c.. with 185hp..... ....vtec... ....

..but i've heard that the F engines don't fit on the civics engine bay.... ...why would he want something like that.. when he can get the type of engine that suits his car best... like the B18C as I mentioned.....

most f engines use the same mounts (basically) as an H22.....in fact theres currently a big thread in AC about a guy building and boosting his F20b-T and putting it into a EG hatch

The F would be great in a Civic. It produces incredible torque, comparable to an H series. It can be boosted to good levels, the H tranny will mount, the F bolts up with the Hasport H kit (Hasport says so) plus each block can be had for less than 500 instead of a grand. Definitely a good choice for a tuner on the cheap.

Fs come in accords, he was bright enough to come in here where people know F series engines to ask the question. No one in the Civic forums bother with knowing F's...but everyone in the Accord forum does.

it makes perfect sense.

A civic with an f series motor would be sick. Lets see from the factory it comes with roughly 140 crank hp, 145 crank tq...add a little bit of boost, say 7psi and you're looking at 180whp and 200wtq. If you chose to go NA with the f series you can do a frankenstein f22a bottom end, h23 top end or h22 top end and go nuts.

Torque=fun and that is something most b series engines lack NTM its being different AND saving money.

I say go for it

ken has first hand experience as to what even a little bit of REAL torque can do in a 2400lb car

Yeah honestly, B series arent the only swaps for civic, i would actually like to see an F series in one, woot for torque. and also for the DOHC F series out there which exist!!!

F series would be a great civic swap in my opinion. Its boost friendly, and cheaper than the B and H swaps (with more torque than the b) Its a great idea for a more budget minded civic, or one that you want to swap and boost.

before the big B series BOOM, the F serie swap was popular, but i guess you don't know much about it.

f serie will slip under the hood, hell if they can drop a H22 into a crx, i dont see why they can't with a F, which, like i said been done before.

After the b series swap boom, the little accord motor is kind of forgotten.

it's not the wrong forum, he/she is asking a tech. question about the accord motor.

Grammatically it makes you look about 2 years old since you cannot make a sentence.

alright alright.... ...i get it now... .....i was not trying to "punish" the guy or like i said.. being all like nasty telling him to go somewhere else... ...it's just that i said because it is a accord forum... but I ain't the boss here... ....so... if this somehow offended any one... I'm sorry... I am a member here, not a little smart *** or something..... ....but yeah... i didn't know that they could fit, I thought the shape of the engine was not suitable for the civic body style.. so I guess... i've learned something here...
