ok, sometimes i hear a sparking/clicking noise coming from my steering column. it usually happens when i turn the wheel when i turn. it doesn't happen all the time, only sometimes. also, whenever i start my car when it's cold, i hear a sparking noise when i turn the key. the noise happens, then my car starts then the noise goes away. any suggestions on what it is?

 

I have had the SAME exact problem for some time now... no one has been able to diagnose yet since it happens ONLY when I'm in the car alone...hahaha

I also noticed after taking off my column's plastic cover, that if I prod the ignition wires coming from the tumbler, it sometimes makes the sound happen. In recent times, the sound has come on and off even after the car has been driving for a time.

That's all I know so far...

 

anybody know what it could be?

 

Sounds crazy. This happens in my Accord every once in a while.
