Default B20Vtec Dyno

This is a guys B20VTEC we dynoed last night. its a very mild setup and it made awesome power.

B20 Block
CP 9.7:1 pistons
Eagle Rods

GSR head shaved .015
Skunk2 Valves
Skunk2 Springs and Retainers
Skunk2 Pro1s
Skunk2 Pro Series Intake Manifold
DC JDM 4-1 header

We tuned it with Uberdata. Final compression we guessed was around 10:1

BTW: these are pretty good numbers in GA, as not many people make over 200whp locally.

i'm gonna venture a guess and say that it's over cammed....you're gonna need a good bit more compression to get any power out of those pro1's

not too shabby on the tq though!

Im always hesitant about postign our all motor graphs on HT. It seems everyone and their brother on HT has "stock block" motors making 220whp. That is simply not the case here.

I would bet money that any cali motor out here will make 10-15 LESS whp. sea level, humidity, make a big difference.

We have owned our dyno for 2 years, only 3 cars have broken 200whp mark. btwo were RSX Type-s with cams (they made 225+), one was a 12.5:1 B series (SMOTE).

we have had a slew of cars make 190-199whp. but its not as easy as alot of people think. I dont think he'll make any more power with smaller camshafts. I think this is a good numbers for his low compression, he needs a better header and a ported head.

190/145 is strong for a 10:1 b20vtec IMO. this motor is a Nitrous motor, but he wanted ot max it out all motor first

What was the reasoning behind using somewhat low compression?

graph would be even more fun after that...

Great power from such mild compression, and considering the factors you told us. Did you say 200 shot? that things gonna be dr. jeckyll and then MR. HYDE I am considering nitrous on my motor but i am hesitant because its 11.3 compression and daily driven.

high compression loves nitrous also guys. I have a 226whp/155wtq, 12:1 b20vtec that will be getting a 100shot. nitrous helps cool as long as you have plenty of fuel to go with it. I dont understand either why the low compression for nitrous.

i didnt build the motor, we just tuned it.

He chose low compression to be safe i guess. i have a 12:1 motor that will be getting a 100shot as well

Nice power from a very mild set-up. Get some nitrous dyno charts when they are available. Is he going to keep the Pro 1s when it gets sprayed?

Wow, thanks for sharin this with us man! I'm very suprised to see those numbers with that camshaft/compression combo. Is it a stock bore size?

I feel what you saying about sea level and humidity. Live on a tropical island that is surrounded by water in the Pacific. Hot all year round with about average 86 degree temp and humid.

Our track is about 500 feet above sea level and with an average 15mph head wind sometimes more which doesn't help any.

One of my friends just got back from DC. He was averaging high 13's on street tires with full interior on his EG6 with ITR swap. Ran the other day and did high 14's at our track. You can really see the difference in performance outcome when it come to the environmental surrounding.
