Default Coolant Leak, from where?

i have a D16z6 civic coupe, the one in these photo's is not my car i am just showing you where i see the coolant and if anybody has had this problem before or knows where this coolant is leaking from.

It is showing up on the motor right under the big hose that comes off the top of the radiator and goes into the head.

This Picture shows in yellow where i am seeing this coolant, it's only in the form of a few drops, it's not a huge leak.

This morning when i got to work i took out a paper towel and wiped the underside of the Hose, but not the hose itself because it seems to be completely fine. but the metal piece that is bolted to the head that holds the hose on, had a little coolant on its underside. This is leading me to believe that the head gasket is not the problem (hopefully) and that the gasket between this part and the head has gone bad.

Has anyone had this problem before or maybe know where this coolant is coming from, if i am wrong?

is it leaking around the bleeder screw? that or the hoses is the only place youre going to get coolant there

mine has a few rops of coolant running from where the water neck meets the head.

I think it could be som liquid gasket leak.

good ole afternoon bump, i got back from class and checked under the hood, no coolant is coming from the bleeder screw or the hose itself, it seems to be coming from further back on the motor, i am afraid it is a head gasket seeing as how there is oil to be found as well... i'll try and post pics later on tonight when i get home but i want to know if anybody has had a problem like this or possibly can verify what this would be?

since you said the back of the motor, it could be the lower radiator hose, where the thermstat is. or might want to check the coolant return hoses(i think thats what they are called) you know the smaller hoses that are in the back that run behind the head and the fire wall.

ok so i checked a few minutes ago and i definitely have oil on the motor as well as coolant that is showing up even more, on the ground now. what do i do i definitely think it is the head gasket as ther liquids seem to be coming from under the head where it meets the block.

does this sound like i am diagnosing the problem correctly.
also what should i do about fixing this?
i don't have all that much experience with cars just oil changes n minimal repairs. however i don't have the cash to throw to a mechanic, would i be able to fix this myself with a helsm manual, torque wrench, head bolts and a new gasket? doing all of this starting saturday and be done before 8am work monday?

yes this is is something you can do yourself w/ the manual and tools as mentioned...Its not to hard at all to replace the head gasket at all.
Make sure the motor is at TDC when you begin for sure and mark the timing belt if you aren't replacing it.
also if the water pump and timing belt haven't been changed for awhile it would be a good time to do it while replacing the headgasket.
Good luck..
