top bolt cross threaded
the top bolt on my friends coilovers are cross threaded, the guy who did it didnt put the washers in to stop the strut. what is there to do? i cant cut the strut cause it has to go back on his car. maybe hit it with a impact wrench
More info is needed like:
What is the car?
Which actual top fastener it is (piston rod, mount etc),
Is it a nut or a bolt? etc..
The best answer would be to try to remove the cross threaded nut or bolt and clean the threads up with a tap or die to get back the way they should be and then use a new nut or bolt. Air gunning on a cross threaded bolt or nut isn't going to solve any problems or fix anything other than at best to delay the problem until later while further causing damage to the threads.
